Bank branch building at a city intersection

Water and fire damage restoration for banks and credit unions

A branch with water on the floor can't safely serve customers, and a vault or records room can't be opened to just anyone. RMO works under your security rules and keeps as much of the branch running as it safely can.

How damage affects a bank or credit union

Financial buildings combine public lobbies with some of the most controlled rooms anywhere. A roof leak over the teller line, a sprinkler discharge in an operations center or a sewer backup in a lower-level records room all have to be handled without opening secure areas to people who shouldn't be there.

Water and smoke also reach the equipment a branch depends on: network closets, cash-handling machines, alarm panels and cameras. Humid air after a water loss can corrode electronics that never got wet, so controlling humidity early matters.

Paper is the third concern. Wet files, loan documents and archived boxes need quick attention to limit mold and ink damage, and they have to stay under the institution's control the whole time.

What a financial institution needs from a restoration contractor

  • Controlled access to secure areas

Vaults, cash rooms, server rooms and records storage are entered only with your staff present, on your schedule.

  • Branch operations kept open

Lobbies, drive-up lanes and ATMs should keep serving customers, which takes phased work, temporary partitions and loud work after closing.

  • Care with documents and data

Wet or smoke-damaged records stay in the institution's custody and are packed or moved only as your staff direct.

  • Security systems protected

Alarm, camera and access-control equipment has to be protected during the work and checked by your security vendor before the branch fully reopens.

Restoration services for banks and credit unions

  • Emergency water removal

Extraction from lobbies, offices and lower-level storage, starting where water threatens equipment or records.

  • Humidity control and drying

Dehumidification to protect electronics, with moisture mapping and daily readings until walls and floors reach their drying goals.

  • Electronics restoration

Cleaning and drying of computers, network gear and office equipment exposed to soot or moisture, before your IT team tests it.

  • Fire and smoke cleanup

Soot removal from surfaces, fixtures and furniture, with odor treatment, following IICRC S700.

  • Mold remediation

Containment and HEPA air scrubbers first, then removal of moldy materials, following IICRC S520.

  • Branch rebuild

Drywall, ceilings, flooring and finishes rebuilt after mitigation by the same company, coordinated with your security and IT vendors.

How we work in a financial building

  • After-hours and phased work

Demolition and loud work happen outside banking hours, and the branch is restored in sections so lobbies and drive-up lanes can stay open where it's safe.

  • Working with your security officer

Before work starts, we agree on escorts, keys, entry times and restricted areas. Our crew works only where your staff have cleared it.

  • Careful documentation

Photos, moisture readings, drying logs and an itemized scope go to your carrier and adjuster, with photos framed to leave out customer information and security details.

Questions facility teams ask

Can the branch stay open while you work?

Often it can. If damage is limited to part of the building, we contain that area and phase the work so the lobby, drive-up lanes or ATMs keep running. Demolition and other loud work wait until after closing.

Will your crew need to enter the vault or cash room?

Only if water or smoke reached those spaces, and only with your staff present. We plan that work with your security officer and finish it during the windows you set.

Can wet documents be saved?

Many can, if they're handled quickly. The first steps are getting records out of standing water and bringing the humidity down. Your staff decide which records move and where. Soaked files can often be recovered by freezing them first and then drying them under controlled conditions.
